Early Life

Eric Saade grew up in Kattarp, Sweden with his Swedish mother and Palestinian / Lebanese Arab father. His parents divorced when Saade was four years old. He is the second oldest of eight siblings and half-siblings.
When he was six years old, Saade first sang on a stage at his mother's wedding. He has been writing songs since he was 13 years old. He got his first record deal when he was 15 years old. Before starting his solo career, Saade was in the boyband What's Up!.


2011

In January 2011, Saade was nominated for six Scandipop Awards in the categories Best Single from a New Artist for It's Gonna Rain and Manboy, Best Male Single for the same songs, Best Male Album for Masquerade and Best New Artist. He also won two awards in the categories Best Album from a New Artist for Masquerade and Best Male.
Also in January 2011, Saade was nominated for one Grammi in the category Song of the Year for Manboy.
On 14 January 2011, Saade released the first single Still Loving It from his second album, written by Saade, Niclas Lundin and Anton Malmberg Hård Af Segerstad,in Sweden.
In March 2011, Saade was nominated for one Marcel Bezençon Award (Melodifestivalen) in the category Artistic Award for Popular. He also won one in the category Press Award for the same song.
In April 2011, Saade was nominated for one Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award in Sweden in the category Sweden's Favorite Star.
In May 2011, Saade was nominated for two Marcel Bezençon Awards in the categories Artistic Award and Press Award for Popular. Also in May 2011, it was announced that Saade would release two albums in 2011 called Saade Vol. 1 and Saade Vol. 2 in Sweden. The first one was released on 29 June 2011 in Sweden and Norway. From 16 June until 27 June 2011, the website scandipop.co.uk released previews from the album. The album reached #1 in Sweden, sold over 50.000 copies and reached Platinum status in July 2011 there. It also reached #16 in Finland.
In June 2011, Saade won two ESC Radio Awards in the categories Best Male Artist and Best Song for "Popular".
The second single of the album Saade Vol. 1 called "Hearts in the Air", a collaboration with J-Son, was released on 3 June 2011 in Sweden and Norway and on 28 September 2011 in France. The song reached #2 in Sweden and reached Gold status there. The music video premiered on 29 June 2011. The remix of the song was released on 11 December 2011 in the UK.
From 17 June 2011 until 10 November 2011, Saade went on his second tour called Made of Pop Concert. The tour included 24 concerts in Sweden and one concert in France.
On 14 July 2011, Saade performed for the Swedish crown pincess Victoria and the Royal family.
In August 2011, Saade was nominated for two You Choice Awards in the categories Best Male Video for Popular and Best Newcommer for the same song.
Also in August 2011, Saade was nominated for two Rockbjörnen Awards in the categories Best Male Artist Live and Best Swedish Song for Popular.
On 2 November 2011, Saade released the first single "Hotter Than Fire", a collaboration with Dev, in Sweden. The song is written by Saade, Jason Gill and J-Son. On 30 October 2011, scandipop.co.uk has released a preview of the song. The song reached #5 in Sweden. The music video premiered on 7 December 2011. The remix of the song was released on 30 November 2011 in Sweden.
The album Saade Vol. 2 was released on 30 November 2011. From 21 November until 29 November 2011, scandipop.co.uk has released previews from the album. The album reached #1 in Sweden and #46 in Finland.
In 2011, Saade was the most searched celebrity on Google in Sweden

2012

Saade is nominated for six Scandipop Awards in the categories Best Male, Readers Favourite of 2011, Best Male Album for Saade Vol. 1 and Saade Vol. 2, Best Male Single for "Popular" and Best Remix for "Popular (SoundFactory Remix)" which will be awarded in January 2012.
Saade is also nominated for one Grammi in the category Best Song for "Popular" which also will be awarded in January 2012.
From 30 March until 28 April 2012, Saade went on his third Swedish tour, called Pop Explosion Concert 2012 with 15 concerts.
In June 2012, Saade released a new single featuring the Norwegian singer Tone Damli titled Imagine. The music video of the single was released a few weeks later.
On 24 October 2012 Eric Saade released 2 new singles, "Miss Unknown" and "Marching (In the Name of Love)". Eric Saade says ”It has almost been a year without a new single. I’ve been writing a lot of new music, and want to include new influences. I’ve always loved RnB and Hip hop, and I want to mix it into my pop music. It might not be the most normal thing to release two singles at the same time, but I like to do things differently...and I love both songs equally!” The music video of his song "Marching (In the Name of Love)" was released on 7 December and the music video of his song "Miss Unknown" is released on 12 December 2012.
A DVD of his Pop Explosion Concert 2012 was released in November 2012.

2013 - Present

In April, Eric announced his album's title, Forgive Me, which will be released sometime in summer, the date is still to be decided, because Saade is still focusing on finalizing the album's songs. With the album announcement, Saade also announced, that the lead and first single from new album is "Coming Home" and will be released on 24 April 2013. His team described the song as an urban pop, summer song, with a rhythmic tap. The song was written by Eric Saade, Julimar Santos and Mats Lie Skaare. Team Saade also said, that "Coming Home" and the other songs on the album are different to the songs which Eric released in the past. The press release by Saade's team gave some information about an upcoming tour, and said, that Saade is going to mostly tour Scandinavian countries in late May 2013. During the final of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Malmö, Sweden, Saade served as television host in the "green room" where finalists waited for the results after performances. In this position he made a controversial remark about host Petra Mede, concluding his input saying 'Back to you, Petra. hanstag: MILF', which was muted on the BBC broadcast
